Performance Machining Inc. was established in 1990. At that time Jim brought 30 years of experience to the company. The business has developed with the help of his two sons; Jim and Ryan. In 2000 Jim and Ryan started the transition of taking over the business, becoming the company's core management team. Jim started working in this industry during high school at Penn State Tool and Die Corporation and has over 28 years experience. He started working for his father during breaks while attending college. He attended the Citadel on a baseball scholarship and later transferred to WVU to play baseball and completed his four-year degree in business. After graduation he came back to PMI full time. With the guidance of his father he learned the ends and outs of the field service business. Today he heads up the company's field department. Ryan has over 24 years experience; starting his career with PMI during his high school years. He earned his private pilots license during high school and received a walk on scholarship to play baseball at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in pursuit of a computer science degree. During this time he earned his instrument certificate as well as his high performance sign-off. He also did aerobatics in a Pitts-S2B. He has written several software programs for PMI making the accounting and estimating department more efficient. Ryan completed a four-year apprenticeship and is a Tool and Die Maker. With his background he strives to improve the design and efficiency of equipment to better service his customers.
